Imagine Festival has done it again! On August 29 and 30th big artist came together such as Dada Life, The Glitch Mob, and Tipper to name a few creating a fresh environment for festival goers to enjoy. Imagine is one of the top festivals in the world. People came from all over the globe to indulge in two days jam packed with music acts back to back. There were beautiful performing dance artists on every stage, booming music, bright lights, and visual art. The visual eye candy was so stimulating that it was like being in some kind of fantasy land. My favorite highlight performances were Dada Life, The Glitch Mob, and the less well known Shuhandz.
Dada Life from Sweden is a duo from Stockholm. Olle Cornéer and Stefan Engblom hitting popularity in 2010 landing on the top 100 DJ's. Olle Cornéer was missing in action leaving Stefan to play solo. He definitely had the crowd going with his intense drops and shaking up champagne on a man in a banana suit! He even poured champagne onto his own head, which was surprising to say the least.
The crowd was hype and dancing to every bass drop. The sounds that I heard from Dada Life was definitely typical and mainstream, but the crowd seemed to enjoy.
The Glitch Mob
The first night The Glitch Mob amazed the crowed with their trio setup! Their sounds were thunderous and the crowd ate it up. This set stood out to me because they actually show the audience what they are actually doing up there on stage, instead of hiding behind a bunch of LEDs with a laptop to only press play. I was entertained watching their every move on stage. The audience was simulated with inflatables coming towards them in every direction, flashy elaborate visuals on both sides of the stage and beautiful dancers.
I had the chance to get up to VIP to take an above shot. It was absolutely amazing to watch the crowd come alive as one organism, waving in all directions simultaneously. I imagine that The Glitch Mob was receiving a lot of love from their fans during their set.
This underground House producer caught my attention at Imagine Music Festival this year. His sound was obviously unique from many of the other artist performing at Imagine 2015. Shuhandz sound is influenced by deep and future house. His latest tracks have topped the Beatport Top 100. His career is just now kicking off and is about to sky rocket from all the support of house blogs and promoters worldwide. I am excited to continue to watch this artist grow!
Overall, Imagine Festival was a great experience, bring many artist from around the world to preform in the heart of the South Atlanta, GA. Imagine Festival was the premier festival of the YEAR, that had an intimate feel in the Downtown setting. This festival was well put together with three different stages spanning across the city park. The crowds were chill, colorful, and dancing was a constant occurrence to the upbeat electronic music that we all love!
